Hi, i have been in this game for a while now, usualy with technomates on a fixed dish, now i have installed a motor i want a box that is a bit more usable, i have mates with spiderboxes so i am familiar with them, my question is would i be wise to buy one now that they are getting a bit older? or is there anything better about, bearing in mind i have only limited technical experience but am willing to learn, this site seems to have many people willing to help, thats why i thought i would ask here. Thanks.

My advise to you, is do it now You won't regret it.The Spiderbox is well supported on this and many other Forums.
I like you am a Technomate man but unfortunately they have fallen by the wayside and let other manufacturers take over. The Spider is very user friendly like the Tm but just gives you that little extra. For the money you can't go wrong. If you can't beat them, join them.I have!! This receiver is going from strength to strength. I know this sounds like a sales pitch but you will find a lot of members on this Forum own a spider as well as other receivers. The final decision is yours.

Thanks for that, the spiderbox does seem to be well supported on this site, which is all i could ask for, will have to give it serious consideration. Cheers.

Also, the spiderbox 9900 is quite a new receiver model

its a good box . Plenty to watch as long as you connect it to the internet. Otherwise You might as well stay with your technomate. Lots of help on here M8 if you get one.. If I was you get the 9000Thd. It comes with a twin tuner for Satellite and Freeview terrestral. Not sure about the new 9900 hasnt been out long..

The 9900HD is ok I have had one for some time now, faster tuner, youtube far better than the 9000HD. There is a New Eagle mini just come in stock more in a day or so, limited at the moment. Really small you can stick it behind the TV.
